First massage experience

It's horrible. My friend brought me to enjoy a massage. It's suppose to be a relaxing massage right. I felt like I was in pain like the entire hour.

The masseuse kept saying that she has to rub off the stiff muscles and the blood clots. And say wah, I'm very stiff blah blah. Obviously, it's my first time. She gave me the impression that she doesn't have much strength, she is a small lady with super strength man. It's crazy, I felt that she was trying to kill me.

You guys must be wondering what kind of massage? It's full body. So you have to be in your undies and that's all. They'll have a towel covering you, so no worries. Well, I'm pretty insecure about my body too.

The after effects are just as bad, it's aching and painful. When I am about to sleep, lying on the bed takes like a minute because it hurts so much when pressure is applied.

Day 2 and it still hurts. Oh my. Is it suppose to be this way?

Movie Review: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Yet another Marvel movie hitting the cinema. I just had to watch it. You can call me a fan of Marvel and I find all their movies awesome so far. It ain't any different for Captain America. He is 95 years old now and he is hot. It's a pity his love interest from back then isn't the same as she was. She gotten much older and is sickly. Thank god, the Captain got to meet her.

Having Black Widow at his side, it makes the movie all the more a MUST SEE. Some parts were a little predictable. For instance, the identity of the winter soldier. I was telling my sister, "I bet the guy is actually his best friend." And when the mask is off, it is his friend. I was like damn, i'm good.

Of course, Nick Fury won't die? He is the freaking remote control of shield. If you get what I mean. I believe that the cinema's audio system should be a lot louder because the sound system was really soft. If it's loud enough, your heart will literally feel the thrill.

One thing that is absolutely amazing in this film is how it displays Capt's strength & speed, but also his agility. His fluid movement, coupled with the use of his shield, really got me glued to the screen. The opening was perfect, where the Cap boards a ship and races through the lower deck taking out his enemies. As the movie progresses, the action gets more and more thrilling with more exciting scenes.

This film not only works just as a superhero movie, but as a thriller that has elements of the Marvel Superhero. There are great visuals. Although, I believe watching it in 3D would be awesome. I didn't manage to though.

Captain America is not just a handsome face and a might pair of guns, he has liberal conscience and has developed an urgent fear that the nation's real enemy is the military-industrial surveillance complex. And so it proves, leading to sensational disclosures of betrayal and makes no difference to the superheroes' relation to each other and the world.

For those who leave when the credits start to roll, come on guys? Haven't you learnt that by now? For all Marvel films, stay till the credits are over. LIKE DUHHHHH ~

Nik's Maple Clinic (Yishun branch)

Halo amigos ~

Just this year, I've been getting this crazy amount of acne that won't go away. And it started out with large cystic pimples on my right cheek. Right now, the cysts are not as many but are still a permanent resident. I have been trying to get rid of them, but no matter what I tried ... Sigh. Need I continue?

I asked my friend about what dermatologist she visited. And she said she visited nik's. So I started researching online, and there were both very good and very bad reviews on this place.

So, I decided to give it try myself. I am going to be honest and speak my heart. whatever it is, it's my experience and what happened to me.

I reached the clinic about 11.45am? I could have seen the doctor, if she didn't have a meeting to attend. I had to come back at 2pm? I was given a queue number (#30) and told to be back by 2pm. When I returned, there were approximately 4-5 people waiting here. And the nurse/assistant said there was just two people in front of me? Yeah right.

The doctor I saw was DR. sim, she is a really friendly and nice doctor. She said my skin is very dry. And asked me why? Did I used any products that will cause my skin to be this way? I used pimple creams that drys out my skin, so she said that's probably the reason.

She also asked for my skincare routine. Be prepared, at least remember what you use.

Products she recommended:

  1. 15ml Clinda Gel
  2. 5G Stieva A 0.01% Cream
  3. 120ml Ultrafine Cleanser
  4. 50ml Aroma Acne Clear Gel

The total damage was $105. I expected more products to be prescribed. But oh well, hope it helps me get rid of my acne. *fingers crossed

She said to come back and see her in approximately 3 weeks. And that the effects will probably be seen 3-6 months =(

The nurse was telling me on how to use the products but it wasn't really detailed. For Stieva A 0.01%, she said to apply it all over my face on alternative nights? And I can step it up to every night if I don't see any redness or peeling of skin. When I read online, they said to apply it to the T-Zone nightly and on the cheeks on alternate nights. Sigh* SO WHICH ONE?

Whether or not these products will clear my acne? Let's wait and see! Stay tuned ~

Anime Review: Noragami

NORAGAMI

“Yato, a minor god, dreams to become the most revered deity in the world with big shrine and all. However, being a penniless god that he is, he has a long way to go and his shinki leaving him doesn’t help matter. Later, when he does his job, a high school girl named Hiyori Iki pushes him out of the way of a speeding bus; unaware of his status as deity.
Things get complicated when this incident triggers abnormality in Hiyori’s soul, causing her to make an Astral Projection whenever she falls unconscious. To turn herself back to normal, Hiyori must help Yato becoming a better god who can fix the problem, along with Yato’s new shinki, Yukine.”
This anime was released this year. It has 12 episodes which is a pity. Such a good anime should have more episodes. This anime ended just like any other anime. Giving room for a possible season 2 but may never ever happen. If you like, I believe the manga is still ongoing. I personally have not read the manga so I have no idea what is going on there.

The anime starts quite fast, giving you an idea of what the entire anime is all about. I loved the art. Beautiful character, amazing quality on the background and awesome facial expressions.

The chemistry between Hiyori and Yato was really good. The supporting cast was also very well done. Kofuku, Daikoku, Nora, Kazuma etc. Amazing job! Yukine was kind of a pain in the arse in this anime. Always creating trouble for Yato. But he is a teenage boy, what do you expect?

While the series deals with some pretty dark and depressing subject matter at times, there's a good mix of humor and light heart-ed moments. The balance between comedy and darkness is good.  find myself laughing out loud to the humor. It's really funny. They have really funny and interesting scenes. There are also some sword fighting scenes and battling the phantoms etc. Really great action I would say.

The series has a great story line and potentially prove to be quite entertaining. It is easy to say that Noragami is one of those series that is easy to recommend to most. The ending really will make fans want more, but I don't believe it gives closure to viewers. ARGH!

Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation

Halo amigos! =)

I am doing a brief review today about the cover girl outlast stay fabulous 3-in-1 foundation.

If you are wondering where I bought this product here in Singapore, I bought it from undertwenty. They only ship out their products on every Monday and Friday. So from then, you will receive your item in about 2-3 days. Mine just arrived today. :)

This foundation comes in 14 shades. But from undertwenty, the shades are not all listed. The Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation is a all in one foundation with a long-lasting formula that fuses primer, concealer, and foundation in one easy step.

Figure 1: back and front of the foundation bottle

I am in the shade 842 medium beige. There is a pump which is a plus point. I absolutely hate foundations with no pump. You can lock the pump as well. Another plus point there.

The colour seems a little lighter here on my hand.

It's quite thick and quite blend-able. When wearing this product, I do agree that you wouldn't need a primer. Concealer wise, it covers redness but not much coverage on my acne scars. One thing that I heard about this product is that it oxidizes and will become slightly darker. For me, it did then a darker color; slightly.

My neck is much lighter than my face. So i probably should bring the foundation down to my neck. But when I am wearing dresses, it's crazy to apply foundation to my chest too.

When I was out with the foundation, I realized the foundation color was slightly darker than usual. It seemed fine in the beginning. Perfectly Matching my skin tone. So maybe I'll try mixing my foundation and see how it goes.

Or maybe I should have gotten a lighter shade? It's hard to get the right color since it oxidizes :( I really liked this foundation though. I hope I can make it work. If you have any tips, please comment below and let me know. Thank you!!

Okay update ** it's probably because I didn't use a primer this time round? I wanted to test out the primer effect so I skipped primer for today. So let's try it again with a primer and see if it solves the problem.

Anime Review: Guilty Crown

I don't know why It took me so long just to get hooked onto this anime but yeah it did. I remember watching the first episode and not liking it. Recently, I went back and decided to really watch it. And this time, I ended up liking it. How weird is that huh? Change of taste as I matured? Maybe.

This is one of the more popular anime back. It is a 22 episode Sci-fi drama centered around a boy name Shu Ouma.

In the future, Japan is recovering from a apocalyptic event which took place years ago known as Lost Christmas. Tokyo was where the deadly virus turned people into crystals, and in order to get this virus under control, those infected were placed under quarantine. However, in any type of government blah blah, there will be a group who rebels against them. In this case, they are called the Undertakers.

Shu suddenly finds himself with an experimental secret weapon: the power of voids. He can draw people's voids and use them. Voids are not all the same. Different people have different voids.

Guilty crown had an intriguing story. The art of the anime is magnificent. I absolutely love it. And they even have a wonderful soundtrack as well. I kind of like this anime, really. =) I especially like the character designs of Shu and Inori, it feels as though they were made for each other.

First impression of Shu Ouma? Timid, doesn't voice out what he feels, goes with the flow.. But after watching the anime, it was all because of a tragic accident and he chose to forget everything. This includes his confident, decisive and brave self.

I was so sad and touched of Hare's actions. She truly love Shu so much! Episode 15!!!! She used her last dying breath to save Shu. After her death, he broke down.

Backstabbing and out playing each other, Gai will return from the dead and continue his selfish goal in gaining mana's heart through inori.

Shu lost his right arm and power thanks to Gai. And in finding himself, the last vile/ void genome was consumed by him in the end. That episode was really good. I love shu!

What went through my head when I was watching the series? Who the hell is mana? She is shu's sister but she will be matured as Eve?! What in the world is happening? And now she is with Gai? She wanted shu to be Adam, so why is she with Gai now?! Probably because Mana changed her mind and chose Gai and Shu refused Mana.

The ending sigh! Not your usual happy ending though. No further elaboration, at least it ended. Some anime season ends don't even feel like it ended.

DIY Ombre

This post is on my experience of doing ombre at home.
So don't judge. I am not a professional. I am learning as I go.

Figure 1: Lolane Pixxel Hair Bleaching Decoloring Powder Extra Light

Direction:
  1. Wear any kind of gloves, latex etc.  Mix Lolane Pixxel Hair Bleaching Powder with the Oxymilke Lotion 9%, using 1 sachet of the powder mix with 1 bottle of the lotion. Mix well until the powder is dissolved
  2. Use a brush to apply the mixture to hair. Leaving 1 cm from the roots to avoid contact with scalp. I am doing DIY Ombre, so i do not have to follow this.  Always check hair's brightness intermittently.  Note: do not comb while the mixture is still on your hair. This may lead to breakage
  3. After getting desired level of brightness, rinse off with water and shampoo hair.

Figure 2: Mixing the powder and lotion together

Figure 3: Applying the Bleach

Figure 4: Results (First Attempt) The second attempt was much brighter as compared to this picture. I didn't manage to take a picture of that though :( I colored my hair black in preparation for my ombre. So, this is probably the results of bleaching black hair? I left in on for an hour?

It obviously didn't turn out to what I had expected. And I'm doing this the first time. I screwed up pretty badly huh. One side is done and the other ain't. I didn't have enough bleach. And what's worst, the color is quite uneven. But I believe after I added the other colors in my hair, it will somehow work out. let's see =)

Figure 5

Figure 6: First attempt (FAILL!!)

Okay, it is very hard to get it even out on the first try. After all, I am new to doing this. I added the colors but they did not turn out so well. So, I'm gonna do it again the second time. :)

Second time didn't work out so well. Argh. Tough time making it even.

Third time, I decided to use aluminium foils to help out. And I did it section by section. I also asked my mom for some help. Right now, I am out of turquoise dye and left with about a quarter of lilac dye.

Figure 7: Finale! This picture was taken under natural light. I stood near my bedroom window to take this picture. :)

What I learnt? Use aluminium foil and section out your hair. Especially for those who have thick hair like mine. And for more effective results, bleach your hair of course. :D

Anime Review: Mirai Nikki

MIRAI NIKKI (FUTURE DIARY)

This psychological thriller, based on the manga written and illustrated by Sakae Esuno, is about Yuki, a loner who's not very good with people. He prefers to write a diary on his cell phone and talk to his imaginary friend, Deus Ex Machina – The God of Time and Space. However, Yuki soon learns that Deus is more than a figment of his imagination when he makes Yuki participate in a battle royale with eleven others. The contestants are given special diaries that can predict the future, each diary possessing unique features that give it both advantages and disadvantages. Within the next 90 days, the contestants must try to survive until there is only one left standing. The winner will become the new God of Time and Space

I discovered this anime by browsing through the popular anime lists. This anime has 26 episodes. When I was watching the first episode, I was wondering what kind of anime is this. The starting was kind of boring and weird. But I wondered why was it so popular? So, I continued watching. Beware! There is nudity, gore, and some crazy stuff. The genres of this anime are drama, action, horror, mystery, romance, psychological, shounen, Supernatural, and thriller.

Mirai Nikki literally means future diary. There are twelve people who have these diaries. There are different types. For instance, Yukiteru uses the random diary which shows what happens to things around him; like a point of view thing. He can't see what happens to himself. Yuno's diary is named the Yukiteru diary because it's a diary that shows what happens to Yukiteru every 10 minutes.  The ninth diary is the escape diary. The eleventh diary is the watcher and so on..

Yuno is crazily obsessed with Yuki (Yukiteru).  She is probably one of those professional stalkers. Imagine having someone like her around you? Even a restraining order couldn't stop her. She has so many secrets and honestly she's a psychopath!!!! She even kidnapped him for her own selfish reasons. SAY WHAT! She's really good at killing people though, like a trained assassin.

Yuki is practically useless. Relying on others, and maybe once or twice he managed to outsmart the others. He is a wimp. After the death of his parents, Yuki had his mind set on becoming the new god. Argh, but he is so dumb! there are times where I want to smack him right in the face. Stupid boy!

A lot of betrayal and backstabbing in this show. One of my favourite characters are Akise Aru! HAHA because he is good looking yo! :P He is also in love with Yuki which is kind of weird. I don't mind though.

I am glad that the anime didn't hold back in letting the anime characters exchange kisses. I hate it when the characters are in love and they don't even kiss each other on the lips. For e.g. Elf & fairy.  If it is romance especially, shouldn't you let the characters kiss?!

Back to Mirai Nikki, they are all players in a game that involves them to take out each another. They called it the survival game. Their diaries has to be protected at all costs. Once their diaries are destroyed, so is their future. In other words, they will die. What's fucked up is that everyone practically dies in the end!

The ending, wow. Really! I leave out my comments about the ending. You have to watch it to find out :) There is a reason why Yuno is such a crazy bitch. It will all make sense later on.

To me, I personally feel this show is thrilling and quite creepy in a way. I wouldn't recommend it to kids but it's pretty interesting. The art of the anime ain't that bad. Although it's pretty mind-fucking. Pardon my language.

Movie Review: Divergent

HALO AMIGOS ~

Before I start, let me say that this is in my point of view, and how I feel about the movie. I am open to other opinions but this is what I think about the movie.

Divergent is a thrilling action-adventure film set in a world where people are divided into distinct factions based on human virtues. Tris Prior (Shailene Woodley) is warned she is Divergent and will never fit into any of the factions. Many find divergents a threat and will do what it takes to make sure they don't exist.  When she discovers a conspiracy by a faction leader to destroy all Divergents, Tris must learn to trust the mysterious Four (Theo James) and together find out what makes Divergents so dangerous.  It is based on the best-selling book series by Veronica Roth.

Beatrice Prior (Shailene) is born into Abnegation. But at 16, they can choose their own fraction, at the choosing Ceremony. Right before that, they have to take an aptitude test that tells them what faction fits them best.  Her results were inconclusive.

At the choosing ceremony, she opts to join Dauntless, the most courageous faction and also the most reckless.

Shailene has nice chemistry with the crazy good-looking co-star, Theo James. Sigh * Thanks to the book series, Divergent has a ready-made audience of fans just waiting to fill those cinema seats as over 10 million books have been sold.

I love Shailene Woodley ever since I watched "The Secret Life of the American teenager". She is awesome and a really good actress.

I did not read the book series. I watched this today with my little sister. She read the entire book series. I found myself asking lots of questions when the movie was screening. According to my dear sister, the movie was not up to expectations. This is because of the scenes that they cut, and she felt that it was too rushed. I do agree that some parts are a little too rushed, non-book readers may have to pay very much attention to what's going on or you'll miss out the important parts.

Of course, when a book becomes a movie; it is impossible to include every single detail. The movie itself was a little thrilling for me. The fight scenes were kind of exciting but could have been improved on. The jumping off from the trains to buildings etc.. were interesting. I have to say, the story line of this series is unique and very creative. I really love the story line.

As compared to Hunger Games, I believe that Divergent kicked its ass hard. When I was watching the Hunger Games, I got really disappointed. It was suppose to be filled with action but it wasn't. Don't get me wrong, I am not hating on the movie or Jennifer. I love Jennifer Lawrence. But let me say again, this is in my point of view, and how I feel about the movie.

To conclude my views on the movie as a non-book reader, I would say the movie was pretty decent. Could have added a little more action and fight scenes. But then again, I wouldn't mind watching it again. Good movie =)

I would rate this a 4/5.

Anime review: Hakuouki

After they cut their hair ^^

If i am not wrong, there are 3 seasons, 1 OVA, and an upcoming movie? LOL, this is so confusing. I discovered this anime when I was browsing. I am not really into the war type of anime but plus point on the art of this series. Hehe, the characters are drool worthy. Handsome, charming, and they fight. What else can you ask?

The proper way of watching Hakuouki

  • Hakuouki Reimeiroku (Kind of boring)
  • Hakuouki Shinsengumi Kitan (Action begins here)
  • Hakuouki Hakkesturoku (When they cut their hair)
  • Hakuouki Sekkaroku OVA

The pictures above do not show all of the characters in the show but good enough. I am still in the process of watching this series. It is freaking awesome.  It's perfect since it's 3 season long and has an OVA! WOOOOOO ~ I love that it is a reverse-harem. ( an ambiguously-defined subgenre of anime and manga characterized by a protagonist surrounded, usually amorously, by three or more members of the opposing sex and/or love interests)

What do you expect? I like reverse-harem. Instead of the cliche, harem ones. I believe it is targeted mainly for the females but oh well. Other examples of reverse harem anime are conflict brothers, diabolik lovers, fruits basket etc.

There is a bit of history in this series. There is also demons and also man-made ones called the Rasetsu. Rasetsu have increase strength, agility and regeneration as compared to a normal human being. But they have weaknesses such as sunlight and the thirst for blood.

When I was watching this series, I really wanted kazama to come and take chizuru away but then again I know it wouldn't happen. It is kinda of a pity they didn't end up together. Haha. She did end up with Hijikata. Anyway, i'm fine with that pairing too. Hijikata did kill dear kazama.

They all died one by one. D: It's war after all, not everyone will make it. IM SO SAD THOUGH. Good anime but the last episode really kept me wanting more. The war hasn't ended either. I doubt there will be another season though.

My fav characters: Okita, Harada, Saitou, Kazama, Hijikata

Anime Review: Zetsuen no Tempest

This anime series consists of 24 episodes. This series feels really dragged, like when they emphasis on a certain area too much? But at the same time, you wouldn't know what happened if you missed an episode.  What drove me to watch this anime was probably because of how the anime characters look, plus point there. The art is absolutely beautiful.  I can't pull myself to watch a particular anime regardless how good the story line is, unless they have good looking characters. This makes it tough for me to find a suitable anime that I like.

This anime will definitely mind-fuck you at many levels. This series is full of mystery and twists that you will have never expected.  There also many flashbacks.  The story line was there but the execution wasn't great either.

Surprisingly, the one who defeats the antagonist is a secondary character who appears in the later episodes. You would have expected either one of the main characters to be more "powerful", i would say.

As for romance, they could perfected it a little more. Come on, everybody likes a ending that ends with a passionate kiss. HAHA *typical girl alert*

Synopsis:

The story revolves around Mahiro Fuwa, a teenager whose family was mysteriously murdered one year before and his friend Yoshino Takigawa. Mahiro is contacted by Hakase Kusaribe, the leader of the Kusaribe clan who was left stranded on an unknown desert island by her followers, and agrees to help Hakase in exchange of her help to find out the culprit for the death of his family. Upon learning of his friend's intentions, Yoshino joins him on his quest to stand against the Kusaribe clan who intends to awake the "Tree of Zetsuen" whose power can bring ruin to the entire world.

Several dialogues and plot elements in Zetsuen no Tempest pay homage to the works of William Shakespeare. (Taken off kissanime.com, you can watch your anime there)

P.S This review is what I think.

What I hate the most

Don't you hate it when someone treats you like a back-up Tyre? It is like when their current ones get punctured, they come running to you to swoop in and save the day. You aren't usually needed, but only when a situation arises you are.  Of course, you can't help  but help them. Because that's just how you are.

Well, this has happened to me too many times. I am sick and tired of it. Especially when it comes to things in the "love" department. Your friend has problems with love, he/she comes running to you for advice or simply because he/she feels depressed. You do your best to cheer him/her up and pull him/her out of despair. And when all is good, you are simply toss away like a trash.

I am not someone to be taken for granted. Don't push it!

Come on. Seriously?!

Boys. When they like you, you are like a goddess to them. They'll send you gifts, take you home, try their best to impress you because you are the apple of their eye.

when they stop liking you, you're just nothing but fly on a wall.

This drastic change will smack the girl right in her face. especially if you guys were close friends once before.

Once so close, yet distant as the future nears. Somehow, I do believe the saying that "a girl and a boy can never be best of friends". It may be true or it might not be.

P.S i am just stating what I think and it doesn't necessarily mean what is happening now.

Review: MR. PEABODY & SHERMAN

Halo Amigos!

I forgot to mention that I caught a movie yesterday as well. Apologies :P

A brief synopsis about this movie; The time-travelling adventures of an advanced canine and his adopted son, as they endeavor to fix a time rift they created.

This movie took me by surprise. I thought this movie would be another would only be enjoyable for children and not young adults like myself. I wasn't too keen in watching this movie initially but since my dear friend wanted to, i obliged. Hehe

What I presume was going to be a pun-filled children's movie turned out to be really interesting. The filmmakers did a great job. They managed to cater to both demographics, and that makes a win for the whole family.

I found myself laughing at how silly and adorable these characters can be. Luckily for me, although the cinema was filled with children; i was still able to enjoy the movie.

I would give this movie a 3/5 :)

My favorite cinema here in Singapore: Filmgarde as they have the best popcorn ever.

Depressing

This blog post is gonna be me ranting and so on.  This rants are all strictly in my perspective.

I've been trying to find Rimmel and Covergirl products here in Singapore. Rimmel has been discontinued here in Singapore. They used to be sold in the drugstore here (Guardian and Watsons) but they have been discontinued. Of course, I confirmed this with both drugstores. Why oh why did you discontinue it?

CoverGirl is apparently not available in Singapore either. You can either get it online or off someone who actually is reselling them.  But the problem but ordering online is that it is difficult to find the right shade of foundation or concealer. I wanted to purchase online but I have no idea how to determine what shade I am in. There are no swatches or anything. With different computer resolutions, the colors we see would be in fact different in reality.

This is driving me crazy. There are so many products in other countries that I have been dying to try but sadly it is not available here. We are so closed off. I've seen many Korean brands of cosmetics but i am totally not interested in any of them. Even the maybelline/revlon/L'oreal products are so limited. The products i've seen in reviews aren't even here in Singapore. For instance, the foundation sticks etc.. Sigh! I am really interested in getting Rimmel and CoverGirl products. I don't have any friends in Australia to help me get these products either. Well, sucks for me.

Haul for the day

There is a SASA sale going on in Bishan Junction 8's Atrium. They have NYX and ELF products on sale too.  I got these face masks at 6 dollars?? Pretty worth it, i would say. I also bought a top from Dorothy Perkins. HAHA

Movie date and shopping :)

The main purpose of today's outing was to watch 300: rise of the empire. This movie is absolutely one of the most trilling movies ever. I really love movies and dramas about Ancient Rome, the Greeks, gladiators... I'll never get bored of it.

If you love 300, you should definitely catch this movie. Although I didn't manage to watch 300, because I was underage then. If you are looking for television dramas similar to this movie, watch Spartacus! =) (Beware: it has nudity etc)

I'll give this movie a 4/5!

After the movie, we went shopping. I bought the naked basic eyeshadow palette from urban decay. I am not really a fan of shiny eye shadows, I am more of a matte person. So hence, my choice to buy the naked basic. I bought it for S$45 at Sephora.

Soon after the movie, Eli came to find us (Mira and me). We headed towards town in search of Rimmel. I heard it is available at ngee ann city? But sadly, we couldn't find it. If you know where I can get Rimmel products here in Singapore, please comment and let me know :) I heard it is discontinued though.

We had dinner at Seoul Garden hotpot. And went off window shopping and catching up.

Adios amigos ~ I'm updating through my iPhone. So I apologise for the poor vocab and bad formatting :)

ComfortDelgro Driving Centre (Ubi) & getting my license

Hola Amigos,

I have finally gotten my license today.  I am so happy that i passed. I swear i was such a wreck the day before the test. Even today, i was panicking like a crazy retard in the warm-up room and waiting room.

The journey has been a great and i would like to thank all the instructors who taught me at CDC. To me, it was a torture going to and fro to CDC almost everyday of my boring mundane life. Although CDC is near my place, but i have to say taking the bus 93 and walking. Sigh! And it's been so hot lately. This drought better end because the grass can't get any browner (HAHA, is that even a word?) than it already is.

Enrollement (School Learner):
First, register at the counter staff.  Not forgetting to take a queue number of course =) Don't worry about anything as the staff will be there to guide you along the process. Basically, you'll need to pay enrollment fees, registrations etc.  The membership is valid for a year.  PDL(Provisional Driving License) is valid for 6 months.

You can book your practical lessons online or via the counter.  At CDC, they have desktops that allows learners to book their practicals there.  (They even let you print out receipts)

There are 3 ways of learning:
Private Instructor under the school (1 instructor throughout), One Team (consists of 2 instructors who takes turn teaching you), or the Common Pool. However, you have to pay more if you want the private or one team instructors.  Hence, i chose to take the common pool.

My method: After passing my basic theory test(BTT), I took practical lessons while waiting for my final theory test(FTT).  I hate dilly dallying, so this is the way I did it.

You can choose to take both theory tests first before taking your practical lessons too.  For practicals, you'll need a valid PDL of course.

If you are worried about your theory tests, you can book the e-trials which you have 6 free trials given to you. (only for school learners) I only took the e-trials for FTT as i felt it was necessary; thanks to those who scared me that FTT was really tough.  Fortunately for me, i passed both theory tests on my first try.  Note: If you don't know the answer, go with the safest answer. Safety first, that's what driving is in Singapore huh.

My first practical lesson, IT WAS QUITE SCARY I SUPPOSE.  I GOT TO DRIVE IN THE CIRCUIT FOR THE FIRST TIME AND DAMN I WAS SO NERVOUS. Being in the common pool, my instructor changes every lesson.  Sometimes I get the same instructors but it's basically random.  There are a few instructors that i found really nice and kind.  =)

Figure 1: Pocket-sized blue book

You have total 3 modules to complete and 2 evaluations.  1 for module 1 and the other for module 2.  And you have to go through all the test routes once.  You will receive a blue pocket-sized book (fig 1) that you have to bring along every single time you have a practical and even for your traffic police test (TP).

At the end of module 2, the instructor will recommend the number of lessons you are required to take before booking for your practical test.

PDL can be renewed at singaporepost offices or at the driving centre; for your information. After BTT, you can apply for your PDL at level 2 of the driving centre.

Tip for booking your lessons you want: Book early, don't wait. When slots are open, immediately book your required lessons.  You can cancel practicals up to 18 times but you have to do so before the 48 hour mark.  For example, if your lesson is at 10.20am; you need to cancel it 48 hours before this timing. =x

Booking of TP: I booked my test at 10.15 am. in my perspective, i think this is the best timing as the traffic outside isn't too bad and chaotic like the peak hours.  You can book your TP at the counter.  I could have taken the test earlier but i had to delay it for 2 months due to upcoming examinations.  Hence, i booked it on 11/3/2014.  Book early; before you know it, there will not be any slots left.  The cost of the warm-up and the test would be S$223.84 (the test costs 20 bucks, warm-up cost 190.50 and GST of 13.34). I know right? It's so expensive. You will need to complete all your lessons before the test, and ensure you have a valid PDL.

Warm-up: This is when, you get all prepared and do a test run with your test car. My warm-up was at 9.10 am. You should report to the warm-up room at least 15 minutes earlier, to be safe. just follow the warm-up instructor and prep for your test.  After you are finish with your warm-up, you'll be escorted to a waiting area where you'll wait for your tester to come.  The waiting room looks a little like some sort of detention room for naughty students in high school. *laughs.

i was kind of pissed today actually. My test is scheduled at 10.15 am and i was the first one to arrive at the waiting room and the last to leave. my tester came at 10.25? i thought that maybe they missed me out or something.  What a way to start my test huh!

Tips for the test: Remember what number your test car is, because you will be leading your tester to your test car.  Follow his instructions and be polite. Testers are not your friend, they are not there to be nice or joke with you. They are there to test you. So do not expect them to smile or joke around, and they might even rush you to do things. Don't panic and remain calm.  First of all, when moving out of the lot, make sure yous shoulder passes the kerb then do a full-lock to the left/right.  this applies for vertical parking as well.  In the circuit, you'll be given priority to cut the queues for vertical, parallel and all the circuit courses.  Try your best to get 0 demerit points in the circuit, save those points for the road. (You'll need them)

** safety, blindspots, mirrors, know who has the right of way, take it slow through the circuit course and if you require a reverse movement, please don't hesitate as it is better to reverse than to mount the kerb. mounting the kerb will lead to an immediate failure.  take note of double white lines, zigzag lines and gradients in the circuit.

After you are done with the circuit, off to the road babies.  Watch out for crazy offensive drivers.  they do not care if you are in the right of way. Be aware of your surroundings and anticipate for the traffic lights to change.  Do not proceed when it is amber or when the green arrow is flickering.

** before the test, go through the tp checklist in your book and take note of what not to do.  the key is the make the tester feel safe and comfortable.

When i saw the tester opening his laptop, my thought was "damn, what i do wrong?!"

After your return to the school and doing a kerb side stopping in the yellow box, follow the tester for your results.  After that, report to the warm-up room regardless if you pass or fail to get your booklet.  Make payment for your license and wait to watch the 10 min (which felt like forever) safety video.  you'll receive a slip which you can use to drive. your photo card driving license will be sent to your house via mail within a month.

And if you are wondering, i took manual transmission.  Hah! girls can drive manual cars too alright. hehe

Test date: 11/3/2014
Time: 10:15 am
Weather/climate: Hot as hell
Points: 4 demerit points
Reason: Changing lane abrupt at Eunos Link
In my defense: I changed lane a little sharper than I was suppose to????? But it wasn't that obvious. Oh well!
