Anime review: Mahou sensou

Halo amigos! I am here with yet another anime review. But just for your info, I don't just watch anime. There is a lot of American dramas that I do watch but they are not a completed series. So I don't do reviews on them.

Takeshi Nanase is an ordinary high school boy with a somewhat dark past and, while he seems really hard working, he actually really cared about what people think of him. Due to certain circumstances, he is dating his childhood friend Kurumi Isoshima, but they are in a "fake" relationship. His life is relatively normal until the day he comes across a girl collapsed on the school campus.

The girl, in a uniform he has never seen before, is named Mui Aiba and she claims to be a magician. Mui then apologizes to Takeshi because she turned him into a magician, too, and what Takeshi once thought was just one world is actually two — the world where magicians live and the world where humans live.

First impression of this anime, "yay! Magic style anime! Woo." That's what I thought, literally. This anime is twelve episodes long.

Spoiler alert, the last episode will leave you confused and freaking pissed. There is no ending. It's like a whole new story? There should be a season two to continue where the last episode left out. Furthermore, I don't know if there is even gonna be a season two and if there is, it's gonna take forever to produce. So major cliff hanger alert.

There are a lot of comments by fellow viewers that the main reason for watching this anime is because the characters remind them of another character? For eg, Aiba mui looks like Shana?

The art of the anime seems a little weird. Sometimes it looks good and sometimes in some scenes it looks distorted. So consistency definitely isn't there!

If I have to choose a favourite character, it will definitely be Ida-kun and the director of the school (forgot her name). Ida has the fire magic ability thing going on while the director has this black magic compass thing. Her powers are pretty cool I would say.

So, execution and story line was a major failure. The beginning and all was good. But the ending sucks, big time! It's the ending that spoils the entire anime for me.

I would definitely not recommend this anime if you hate shows with no endings. But for one shot purposes, you might wanna try it. If I were to rewind the clock, I would definitely not have watched it.

ADIOS AMIGOS ~
