Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse Airbrush Finish Foundation
So, the other day, I was in town
@ Takashimaya, Ngee Ann City, satisfying my mochi cravings. The mini strawberry
mochis are to die for! Do try it out if you are ever there.
I was window shopping at Watsons,
checking out the Maybelline counter since they were having a ongoing promotion
of buy any 2 and get 1 product free! I have always wanted to try the Maybelline
Dream Matte Powder, which was kind of the motivator that drove me to purchase
the Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse Airbrush finish foundation. The sales
assistant was really good, she told me my shade in just mere seconds. Great
help indeed!
I was pretty skeptical at first,
because I have oily skin. And it’s really tough to find a good foundation that
lasts through the humid weather in Singapore. I swear, we need more humid-proof
& sweat-proof make up products in Singapore’s Market.
With the promo, I decided to give
this product a go. Let’s start with the product description off the Maybelline website:
- Air-whipped
liquid provides perfecting coverage for 100% poreless skin
- Ideal for
normal skin
- Oil-free,
fragrance-free, Dermatologist-test, allergy-tested, non-comedogenic (probably
another reason why I decided to try the product. If you read my other posts,
you’ll know that I have been suffering from cystic pimples and yes it is
getting better but I’m still treating it)
I bought the shade Natural beige,
Medium 2.5. The packaging of the product has a pump, which is a plus point! Any
foundation bottle with a pump is definitely a good point. It even comes with a locking function, though it lacks a cap which most people would have preferred. With or without a cap, it doesn't really bother me! I brought the foundation out, you know to use it after my gym session with Nadhirah, it isn't as travel unfriendly as most people claim it to be. Or it could be that I'm just lucky? Moving on, the match was really
good, credits to the sales assistant. Having oily skin, it is definitely a must
to set it with a powder! Plus in Singapore, if people were to go for the dewy look, they will probably be looking like a disco ball in no time (lucky you, if u don't!). It retails at Watsons for SGD$29.90, usual price for
most drug store foundations in Singapore.
Pros:
- Airbrush
finish leaves my skin looking smooth and pore-less
- Medium to
full coverage (for fuller coverage, beauty sponge would be recommended)
- It is
buildable
- Non-comedogenic
– great for acne prone skin
- Great packaging
Cons:
- Not good for
my oily skin – I found myself blotting throughout the day about 3-4 times
- Doesn’t do
too well in Singapore’s weather unless you have dry skin
- Sweat proof –
not really (I went to the gym with it on, just to check it out. Pretty much the
same effect as most foundations give after a workout; if you know what I
mean)
- Longevity – mediocre
job
All in all, this is a great
foundation. It gives good coverage covering all your pores, has a natural semi-matte
finish and a thick creamy kind of mousse-y consistency. Definitely has the airbrushed
finish. Although it states that it is suitable for all skin types, it’s not
really “oily skin friendly”. Anyone with oily skin like me, would have to
constantly blot and touch up with a mattifying powder (I even used a mattifying
primer). I’ll conclude that I do like this
foundation but I wished it had stayed better on my oily skin.
My next foundation that I will be getting would probably be the Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation ~
I’ll rate it, 3.5/5!
p.s. exam time and I can't wait for the holidays!

This is killing me
Projects are really killing me. We had 3
weeks of holidays and they had to give us a week’s worth of e-learning and four projects? Are you freaking kidding me?
My test is on Wednesday when I end school @
5pm or even later on Tuesday?! WHAT DA FUG! Presentation is on Tuesday, and
that leaves me with almost no time to memorise all 9 topics. Way to go Nanyang poly!
You are the creator of all the white hair and pressure headaches I get.
Worst of all, it simply sucks when you get group members who aren't cooperative or contributing. Useless, why do you people even come to school? If it's to pass time, you can do that at home.
Lecturers need to understand that by not letting us choose our own group members will result in all forms of conflict and stress. Maybe you should try asking the class what they would prefer. I know the most common reason for splitting us through drawing lots etc is to prepare us for work. I doubt that there will be so many free riders at work. Even so, bad performance = bad for the company. Would the boss even want to keep an employee who performs badly or doesn't contribute to the success of the company? I don't think so.
I do agree that we can't possibly choose who we work with in the future. But most of them wouldn't be fucking free riders and they will probably be competitive. Only the best survives what!
Sigh. Poly woes

Project woes
***disclaimer: my opinion. It's
my way of venting my frustrations. You can have your own point of views but
this is just mine.
You
know how we have projects and crazy group assignments in poly? Well, it ain't
all that sweet. Whoever said Poly is fun, screw you! Poly is not slack or less
stressful as you think it is. In projects, there are a few types of
people.
- the free
rider
- the anything
anything
- all talk but
no action person
- the
do-my-part person
**
Note: obviously, there may be other types but for my post. I am just gonna talk
about these dumb fucks.
Now, let me introduce you to the "god" of all projects. Everybody
wants to be in the same group as them, everybody loves that they don't have to
do a shit and everybody thinks they are gonna get a mother fucking A because
they are with the "god". But what sucks is, this "god"
always carries the heaviest burdens. The "god" is the one who does
all the work, editing, communicating, reminding and all that shit! Without the
"god", your report will probably not even be existing. They aren't
"god" because they want to be. It's more like they are forced to.
Tell me, who the fuck would want to shoulder all these burdens and do the
whole/most of the project by themselves? Nobody!!! And if there are people like
the "god" out there, you need to get yourself checked out. Because
clearly, there is something wrong with your head.
Everybody
hates this person and never wants to be in the same group as the free rider.
Free riders don't do shit and they just get all the grades. As the name
implies, they take a free ride. No blood or sweat shed. Even with peer
evaluation, they might still get a B for the project. Like are you freaking
kidding me?
The teachers always tells us students that we have to tell them about these
people and they'll have a "talk" with them. Teachers always say what
you tell them is confidential but they will mention your names in heat of the
moment okay? Don't ever take their word. So how telling the teacher help?
Firstly, you'll be giving a knife to this free rider. They will be able to stab
you in the back at any point of time. They can pull your grades down through
peer evaluation as well. You'll be the victim of
getting-low-grades-because-i-outed-the-free-rider.
This
is the person who doesn't have a mind of their own. They simply just goes with
the flow. They are the types of people who don't contribute much to the
"brain storming" sessions and will agree with what the majority
says. They will be the ones who have read the whatsapp text message but
silently waits for someone else to reply first before they reply. Oh come on!
Grow a freaking mind of your own. I swear, there ain't a purpose of you being
in the group at all. *rolls eyes*
well,
like the name states - he/she talks big but no actions. Actions obviously speak
louder than words. Anybody can say anything but for them to actually do it,
that's another story. "i'll hand it in tomorrow" "if you
need help, let me know" "i'll do that" "i'll do that
website for you" ALL BULLSHIT! In the end, the "god" has to keep
pushing him/her to do their work and to meet the datelines. AND when they send
it to you, it's sub-standard. WHAT THE FUCK?! In the end, the "god"
has to edit all that shit!
this
person isn’t that bad. It is just the fact that they
lack initiative to help out. They'll just do what they are tasked to
do. And when they are done? Well, obviously leave it all up to the
"god" to settle it!
Show a little concern. You are part of the group and just because you have
finished your part does not mean you are finish. You should use this time to
help the other group mates and help the "god" out. If the report is
not completed on time, it is also partly the do-my-part-person fault too.
Alright. I'm done! I hate projects. Wanna know what role I play during
projects? I guess that's pretty much self explanatory. *sighI'm beat. Signing
off ~

THROWBACK
Hi there blog buddies,

This post is long overdue. It was supposed to be up on 30th of Dec 2014. But I was too preoccupied to even switch on my computer.
The highlights of this post is probably the visit to the LAB sg; experimental cafe or something. It is located around arab street there!
This cafe is pretty famous and I was reading through the food blog posts to see which cafe to visit.
Sadly, all the awesome and popular foods were sold out. And it was barely evening, we got there about 3?
I know we should have done some research on what foods we should try from this place. But we did ask the waitress for some recommendations but apparently most of the good food were sold out. We were left with not much of a choice to choose from.
The concept is great. A different kind of atmosphere for you to experience. The only issue is probably that the place is pretty narrow and cramped. It wasn't as comfortable as I thought it would be. The food that we tried wasn't that great either. Mine was pretty dry! I guess we missed out the good stuff. So, I can really give any good comments on this place but if i ever do go back there; i will!
After the cafe visiting, we headed to bishan to check out if there were any good movies and also to spite someone there. hehe I kinda hate GV (my old workplace) but who cares? You know, the people there aren't really nice. I know I should degrade the company but the people there are really awful, judgemental and a pain in the fucking ass. And some of them are still working there! I shall not mention any names but you pretty much get the idea. Horrible working experience ever! I did not even enjoy my time working there, and the pay was horrible!! FYI, it was $4/hour and every evaluation our pay will increase by 0.10-0.30 cents. But evaluation was suppose to be every 3 months according to the contract but it was not 3 months. It was more like 6 months????
OH WELL, ENOUGH OF GV!
Anyway, it was great spending time with Yan. So much gossips and catching up! hehe It was a pity that the last semester in school did not went as smoothly as it begun. But I'm glad that we still remain good friends. :) If everything had went smoothly, who knows; we would have probably been in the same school today? Well, i guess everything happens for a reason.
Signing off, XOXOXOXO

New Year's
Hi Blog buddies,
It is finally the year 2015. Wishing everyone out there a very happy new year. The plan today was kinda unplanned or i'll say we didn't follow our initial plan. Out of our 9 years of friendship between zheng an, jiayin and myself, we have never ever celebrated the new year's together. This year was THE year we did!
We met up at Paya Lebar Square for some Ya Kun and to city square for a haircut ~ Jiayin did her eyelash extensions while me and zheng an did our hair. Worst salon hair cut ever, that lady seriously destroyed my beautiful thick fringe that I love!! Now I look like a fucking kid.
After that, it was time for din din! Lau pa sat is a first for me. The place kinda looks like some church kinda landscaping. But it was really funny as the satay vendors, seafood vendors has agreed turfs which we had to sit at a specified area if we wanted to buy our food from them. Wow! Food wars uh?
The initial plan was to catch seven sons at 10.00pm! But instead we went for this event thingy at the promontory @ marina bay. There were performances and Djs. I especially love Dj nicole chen was it? Her music was awesome! Sorry virgin clubber here, i have never ever stepped into a club before.
The entrance fee was $10 per pax. This affordable price is probably the reason why there were so many bangladeshi workers present at the event! I don't have anything against them initially but now i do!
Well, let's listen to my story! There was this poor girl alone and this bangladeshi guy kept trying to be funny with her. She wanted to leave and he did not let her. Blocking her every move! Luckily, jiayin noticed and helped the girl. It was so crowded that they decided it was time to get fresh with singaporeans girls huh?
And since he couldn't get her, he kept backing towards us with the intention of hitting us of course. What makes the situation worst was the other bangladeshi people from behind were pushing us forward. We were practically sandwiched in between! That was the time that we had to leave!! We made our way back to the field and we noticed a huge crowd party crashing. They were climbing over the barricade to get it. Poor security i'll say!!
WOW SERIOUSLY WOW WOW!! Anyway, I think it takes quite a bit to excite me or to get me to really feel the thrill. That's what i've learnt from this experience. hahahahaha
After the big event!!!!!! MAC AND HOME ~ My feet is still sore as of this moment.
