23 Jumpin
23 Jumpin is a cafe that is situated in a pretty deserted area. You wouldn't expect a row of other food establishments along with it. It's a less than 5 minute walk from Taiseng Train station. Since I live very near to the area, finding this place was a piece of cake.
This cafe offers a variety of awesome dishes ranging from brunch, pastas and even waffle pizzas. The interior design of the cafe is very simple with a few paintings on the wall and wooden table and chairs.
Take a look at the menu!
My only beef with this cafe is probably the tables and chairs. You can see in this photograph that the holes in table. If you don't place your utensils well, it's going to fall off the table. Beware! Also, the chair being made the exact same way isn't very comfortable. The cafe looks good though!
Okay, check out the spread we ordered. The egg benedict is a dish that I heard was pretty awesome. Well, it definitely lived up to my expectations. My sissy ordered the creamy mushroom and bacon pasta; which was not bad too. Although the latte art wasn't great but matcha latte was really good and tasty. Lastly, the mushroom pizza waffle definitely something new to me. The cheese and the mushroom complimented each other really well.
overall, 23 jumpin is definitely worth the visit. The best seats are definitely the only one with a yellow cushioned two-seater sofa (it sits 4 people in total but 2 lucky people get the cushion)? it's near the door, you wouldn't miss it! If you manage to get that seat, yay! The food here is pretty good, no complains from me. Like i said, my only beef with the place is the level of comfort.

Movie Review: The Longest Ride
The movie i'm reviewing today is in the title of this post. It's based on a Nicholas Sparks Novel, same like The Notebook and Dear John (if I got that right). The main reason why I wanted to watch this so badly. Not forgetting, Britt Robertson and Scott Robertson was such a good couple on set. But the whole movie isn't based on one love story but two.
There were scenes that left me teary eyed but The Notebook is still the best yet. I think the only really moving and interesting part of the movie was the love story between Ira and Ruth. They withstand so many ups and downs; the war, even though Ira was left sterile due to an infection from a gunshot wound. Especially since Ruth loves children and wants a big family. She left at one point of time but she came back! AW. The fact of how Ira is such a romantic man. Even though he had ruth with him, he still wrote letters to her everyday.
Britt and Scott's romance wasn't as moving or out of the ordinary. In life, couples will have different interests and different career paths. Sophia's (Britt) interest was art while Scott's (Luke) is his ever so dangerous bull riding career. Hey, it's only my point of view. No hating! As I was saying, their romance wasn't really great but i'm not saying it's not good. In a general, the movie is still enjoyable. If I was in Sophia's (Britt Robertson) shoes, i'll be really uneasy everytime my boyfriend went for another bull ride competition. I mean, you'll never know whether he will finish it unharmed. The bulls are unpredictable and pretty scary. Luke has had his setbacks with bull riding; injuries and his health.
In short, this movie did not give me the same effect the Notebook did, but I guess it's worth the watch. Do bring popcorn, the movie is definitely a long ride of 128 mins. I'll rate this movie about, 3.5/5.

Bunion surgery: day 35
As you can see, it's
healing pretty well. I still can't feel the top of my toe. And my toe is still
relatively swollen. Been doing the exercises the doctor asked me to a few times
a day. Walking feels normal but I still feel slight pain every now and then. I
don't really know how to describe the sensation I feel when I walk but it's
still probably be awhile before returning to normal.
School's
starting soon, I hope I'll be all good by then.
Side track a little,
been playing Pokemon Alpha Sapphire these few days’ man. It’s insane that I’ve
completed the game and have no idea what to do now. Oh well? I’m going to catch
the longest ride tomorrow, it better be good.

Bunion surgery: day 32
Okay this is how it looks right
now. Update: the black stuff will drop in about 2 weeks’ time according to what
the doctor said during my last appointment. I can see bits of it peeling off
actually. I can shower as per normal but I will have to quickly pat dry my
wounds.
I also use this to
wash the operation site twice a day instead of using the alcohol swabs because
it's gentler. The swab is like a piece of wet tissue paper, so it feels a
little rough to the skin.
Yesterday,
I wore the boot and it hurts so much. Like a sharp pain every time I took a
step. I have no idea why. And today, I felt it too.

Fix Cafe
It's been awhile since I last saw Eli and Mira, we have decided to give Fix Cafe a try. And it's halal! Great for my dear Mira. *laughs. This cafe is definitely the kind of place that is great for chilling. Although it isn't air conditioned, being situated next to the pool makes up for it. It was quite cooling and not too hot. Of course, it could get pretty warm as well. So, it depends on your luck pretty much.
The concept is pretty cool. The menus are already on the table, so once you have decided, just make your way to order. I heard that the cakes are better tasting. Sadly, I did not manage to eat the cake. I was stuffed once I was done with the Penne. *** i wished they made the menus slightly bigger**
Check out the spread we ordered. The 3 cheese Penne Gratin, i'll say i expected it to be much more chessier. If you know what I mean! The cheese is pretty much on the top, the insides aren't as cheesey. The Naanwich definitely an interesting idea there, pretty popular too I must say.
The doughnuts with the salted egg dip. The salted egg dip reminds me of the Liu sha Pao. But it wasn't as nice as I thought it to be, same goes for the churros. The doughnuts is fluffy and soft, the right consistency for a doughnut. It would have been much better if it has fillings instead of a dip.
The next time round i'm there, i'll definitely order the cakes ^^
Overall rating, 3.5/5 for fix cafe.
Getting there:
We took a bus at Toa Payoh Interchange, bus 139. Alight 4 stops after boarding and walk to the cafe. During the journey, you would pass HomeTeamNs. Keep at look out and you won't miss it.
