Gold Coast Day 5
Woke up to this sight. The sunrise. Beautiful. The wind, wow!
Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary
Today was really not our day. The tram was down to further notice. We took the bus to broadbeach south. However, we did not know where to alight. We ended up at pacific fair, and having to walk all the way to the tram station.
After that, we took 700 to the Sanctuary. I got to see Koalas for the first time. I even got to touch dem kangaroos. There are two kinds of kangaroos at this place. The red ones have fur soft as hell. And there are so many baby kangaroos. I nearly died of fluffiness and cuteness.
You can even feed the kangaroos. A pack of kangaroo feed is $4. You can get them at the vending machine or the counter if you do not have any change.
There are a lot of people waiting to feed to kangaroos. It was difficult to finish the entire pack of food. Maybe, we should have just went around touching dem kangaroos instead of attempting to feed them. The baby kangaroos are adorable.
We also saw Tasmanian Devils and dingos.
Sadly, the quokka wasn't visible in its enclosure.
Pacific Fair
We decided to head to pacific fair to continue shopping and visiting Kmart. We realised that Kmart is just another departmental store. And I found another deadpool poster. I'm going crazy on posters. I bought 4 in total.
I have over a 100 dollars left. I really should have bought more over there. We ended our day by buying pizza and kebabs and heading back home.
Beach
With our towels, food and phones, we headed down to the beach to enjoy the view and scenery. We stayed till it was dark. Stargazing and singing our rad songs, it was the best time ever. It was really cold too. We actually wore our hoodies down.
Totally not blending in ~ *laughs*

Gold Coast Day 4
Harbour Town shopping
Harbour Town is really made easy for tourists. You can book a shuttle bus on the website. The timings and departures are on the website as well.
Once you get there, head to the VIP Tourism Lounge to get free wifi access and to get a discount card that can be used for extra discount at these outlet stores. You can get free drinks there as well too. Water, coffee or tea.
We bought some cosmetic products at this cosmetic shop. I got a foundation and Mira got a colour corrector stick. Our return shuttle is at 5pm. We are afraid we can't shop for that long. So we decided, to catch a movie over there.
Yes, there is a cinema at harbour town. We watched the huntsmen. The cinema here is pretty different compared to what's back home. There is free seating and the popcorn combos there costs about 11.50. There is also no choice of sweet or salted popcorn. There is only salted. Just when, we wanted something sweet to kill that sweet tooth.
After our movie, I bought a few superhero shirts for 10-15 bucks. And some accessories for 2 bucks. I even gotten, a deadpool poster. Yay! Finally what I wanted.
The shuttle bus station closest to us was the one at Mariott by the ways.
Max Brenner Chocolate Bar
We went home to take a breather and also to put our stuff down. At Max Brenner, we got the cookie shake, hot white chocolate and also, the best chocolate souffle ever. The souffle, you have an option of whether, you would like it with ice cream or just by itself. Wow, it was amazing. I absolutely love it.
Once we are done, we continued browsing and shopping at surfers paradise. You can call us a pro now, since we recognise the roads and shops. Check out the skate boards. It is so freaking cool. Look at the graphics and the flash. * goo goo eyes*
That's all folks,

Gold Coast Day 3
SeaWorld
SeaWorld is the
closest attraction to our place. We took the bus from ferny avenue at Ocean
Avenue. Bus waiting time varies. Buses come every 10-15 minutes. There are bus timings on a chart at the bus stops.
If you have to purchase tickets, the queue would be longer. If you already have
the tickets, you can go on and walk right in. We already got the pass from movie world, so we could go on straight in.
Do get the park map as there are some shows that you wouldn't want to miss. The
morst interesting events would be the dolphin affinity show and the sea lion
(fish detectives) show. They have specific timings, so do take note.
The place has both
rides and animals to see. The rides were alright, not as thrilling as movie
world but I did get wet.
You are not allowed
to bring your bags in for the storm coaster. Do make sure to rent the lockers
for $2 for a maximum of an hour
.
This particular ride,
you can bring your belongings with you on the ride. But it's at your own risk
if it gets soaked. Each boat can sit up to four people.
Singaporeans who've
been to escape theme park would find this really similar to the wet n wild ride
back in the day.
The rides at seaworld ends really quickly. And with the sun shining right on you, you'll be dry
in time.
You
can see sharks, fishes, stingrays/manta rays, sea urchins, polar bears,
penguins etc. In the penguin encounter, there were 3 chicks in the enclosure.
This is my first time seeing a penguin chick up close. It's so adorable..
One thing is a must
try would be the rainbow scoop ice cream. If you get a regular cone, you get
two scoops of any flavour @ 6.99 ~ To get back, we went
to the same bus stop that we alighted from.
Beachfront markets
Every Wednesday,
Friday and Sunday, there are these beachfront markets along the coastline of
surfers paradise. They sell lots of wacky and interesting stuff such as arts
& craft, customisable graffiti caps, beauty products, customisable gifts, wacky whistles, paintings and even food. <I did not mention everything that
is at the market.>
Honestly, it was a
little disappointing as I did not find anything interesting and the prices were
rather costly as well. It was more of a look-see kind of thing for me.
To the beach
The soft sand on my
feet, the soothing water around my feet.. What's not to love? Not forgetting, a
beautiful view of the ocean.
I absolutely love the beaches
here.
Kebabs
Along surfers
paradise, there was a place that caught our attention.
It's 12 bucks for a
kebab, pizza and a can of drink. It's really worth the buy. The kebab was huge
and the pizza was definitely adequate as well.
More souvenir
shopping
After dinner, we
continue browsing and visited stores that were having wholesale promotions and
we bought a couple of things.
The key is to keep a lookout for sales and promotions.
Shopping @ Coles
Last but not least, we visited Coles. It's another supermarket in
Gold Coast. We came with a reason but apparently, they do not have the things we
wanted.
Lucky enough, we came at the right timing. Maybelline was having a
sale and everything is half price. In Australia, the makeup is really
expensive just like Singapore's. So half price was really a good deal. The best place to get good drugstore makeup is still in the US.
These are the items I
got. Pretty rad!
Okay I got to go now
~
Xoxo
