NOM - Bistro & Bakery
NOM which stands for no other meaning has a Facebook page which enables you to check if they will be open or reserved for a private booking. They are very popular for parties and private events. The last time I was there, it was booked for a kid's birthday party.
You can check out their customised cakes on their Facebook page. They also have an Instagram page and Twitter page; @noothermeaning
After taking the trouble to head down to the café and being disappointed, I gave a direct message to NOM through Facebook asking if they were open to public today. And I received an almost immediate response.
I've been dying to try out this café just around my house. It isn't that near but still near enough. I heard that their rainbow cakes are too die for. The cakes comes in 3 flavours; chocolate, salted caramel and Oreo. However, the cakes available today are Oreo and salted caramel.
Their menu is quite extensive. From soups, salads, thin crust pizzas, mains and to all-day breakfasts. There is even a weekend brunch set. Do take note of the timing though.
The pizza was really yummy. Even the ice blended drinks were really good. The names were so interesting. Vanilla pops, coffee pops and so on.

I tried the ultimate nom burger which was totally delicious. It was a pity that the shepherd's pie and churros weren't available. The burger was tasty, the patty was grilled nicely with a little tint of redness.
We also ordered the Ham & Cheese pizza. All their pizzas are thin crust. You must make sure to eat this hot. The mozzarella cheese will make your eyes go gaga. It was like a pizza hut commercial playing live.
I would really love to go back and try more of their food. The atmosphere was quiet even though there were heaps of people. One issue though, I believe that they have a lack of staff. There weren't enough waiters and waitresses to go around. There was just one waitress who had to serve the food, take orders. One cashier who also sends food over time to time.
From the moment we stepped into NOM, I did not know if it was self serviced or not. Because we weren't given the menu and there were lots of people at the cashier. After about 5-7 minutes, we were then given the menu.
Now for the awaited rainbow cake. I tried the oero flavoured one. The colours were vibrant. Probably one of the prettiest and most photogenic one around. However, it didn't taste as good as it looks. It really is an attractive piece of cake, but it just wasn't to my liking. I guess it was the Oreo cream? The cake wasn't dense but it was a little dry. After finishing this lovely cake, I was so thirsty. But I have to agree that it is much more tastier than the other rainbow cakes around.
My overall rating for this café is a 4/5.
