Universal studios: horror nights 4
Hi blog buddies, I just got home from a awesome night at universal studios. That's right, I went for Halloween horror nights ~
I already went last year on the 2th of November. It was probably the second last day and the crowd was definitely more than the crowd of today's.
Since now is already past midnight, by today I meant 4th November. My horror buddies for the day are Elisca, Cassandra, Wei Tian and Clement.
We decided to meet up for a quick dinner and head over to queue. Surprisingly when we got there, the queue was not as bad as last year's. In fact, we thought the entrance was located elsewhere since there wasn't much people to begin with. Last year, we ran to the haunted houses but this year running was not even necessary.
This year's theme is demoncracy. Do correct me if I got it wrong. The opening act was exactly like what was on the trailer, the minister of evil greeting us live on stage.
As usual, we all were let in a little earlier (it starts at 7.30pm). There is a holding area with a huge stage in the center where all patrons will gather and wait to for the Halloween horror nights to commence. With loud music and lights, it gets your heart pumping and all excited for what's coming.
The haunted houses and scare zones are at the same locations as last year's. Maybe 1-2 slightly different but it wasn't much of a difference.
Last year, there were 3 haunted houses and scare zones. This year, there are 4 haunted house and scare zones.
Another surprising thing was that there were a lot of kids this time. Some with their friends and some with their parents. Wow!
Quoted from RWS website, "From city centres to schools and army barracks, demons will
be awakened, clowns and fairy tales will turn loony, and urban legends will come alive. Guests will
have nowhere to hide as the Minister of Evil unleashes ‘Demoncracy’..."
The haunted houses of the fourth season are jack's 3-dementia, mati camp, jing's revenge and the L.A.B.
My overall thoughts are that these haunted houses aren't that scary. But the best of all would be jack's 3 dementia which is based on killer clowns etc.. We were given 3D glasses and the whole experience with the colours and the lighting were out of this world. The killer clowns were in bright neon colours (masks, costumes) and the glasses made it like as though we were in some sort of creepy carnival. There was one part where we had to cross a bridge that was spinning and the background was spinning along with it. This part really got to me; I was so dizzy that I had to hold onto the railings. It is probably due to the glasses man, whole new experience. I'll rate this particular haunted house a 4/5.
The scare zones weren't that scary this year. It was more like a selfie zone where everyone was stopping these "demons" to take pictures. But maybe that is the purpose of these scare zones right? Haha oh well.
We finished everything including the day rides about 12? We managed to catch the performance as well.
if you just want to have a fun time to scream and laugh with your buddies, this is the place to visit. Students get it at 50 bucks per pax. You can get all these information on their website.
Tips for first timers: do get a map before entering. This will give you a upper hand as you can plan your route and know which are the must see attractions and highlights. Also, be there by 6-6.30 because you'll be able to enter soon after.
