A day at east coast park
Hi blog buddies!!
The pictures attached above summarises my day at the east coast. We started off we meeting at enous train station and taking bus 13. We stopped at blk 45 if I am not wrong and walked towards the underpass.
When you are out of the underpass, you'll see an area where all the skaters are practicing their tricks. And by skaters I mean roller skaters. On your left, you would see the bike rental store etc.
Our initial plan was that me and nad would renting roller skates while Bernice would rent the bike. But it was $12 to rent the roller skates for just a mere two hours while on the other hand, $10 to rent a bike for four hours.
We rented 3 bikes and off we go. I always have this complex about renting bikes. Because their bikes are never of too quality and this means there is 50% chance of the bike being faulty and so on. I checked the tyres, seats and break. Seems alright. I believe the bike was a little too high for me though. Soon after riding for awhile, I realised I couldn't catch up with my friends. Hey, it wasn't because I was a noob. The gears were faulty. After reaching a certain speed, I just couldn't paddle to gain speed.
I had to change the bike for a new one. The second one was much better. After testing the second bike, we took a short break at Burger King.
First pit stop, the lagoon. We ate some satay and drank Bandung. Satays were sold at $7 for 10 pieces at one particular store that was opened. Since it was noon, not many stores are opened yet. This place usually operates in the evening or late afternoon. The beef noodle there is heavenly, I will never fail to finish the bowl of beef yummy noodles. *drools
After eating and snapping some photographs, we visited the skate park and the jetty for some short sight seeing and eventually stopped near the jetty to play water and to just chill.
The water was awesome and even though it was the sun was scorching. It didn't feel that warm, it was pretty windy and the water really cooled us down. We even met a interesting creature called the horseshoe crab. They come in pairs and stay near the shore.
Our assumption upon seeing it, "it's a stingray. Ohmyfugginggod" after reaching home and explaining to my dad what had happened, he immediately told me what it was. My knowledgable and awesome father!!
At 2.30pm, we made our move to return our bikes. No pit stops, all the way. We were exhausted and our butts hurt like a bitch.
We had lunch at Burger King where I saw a really really good looking guy. He is the manager there and I only noticed him when he smiled to me and told me the air conditioning was spoilt. Even the grill was spoilt, so disappointed. My double mushroom Swiss burger. Almost everything was grilled, I was left to eat some fish burger :(
That pretty much sums up my day!
